Welcome to 2B.org. These terms govern your use of our website, The Surge Network, Haikus for Humanity, and all related services. By using our platforms or joining our network, you agree to these terms. Plain language, no tricks.
The Short Version
- We're a nonprofit. Everything we do is in service of our mission—shared prosperity for all.
- When you join our network, you consent to receive communications from us across all categories—campaigns, updates, alerts, and more.
- Your content contributions (like haikus) may be displayed publicly on our platforms.
- You can leave anytime. Unsubscribe with one click. No hard feelings.
- Don't misuse our platforms. We're building something good here. Help us keep it that way.
Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using 2B.org, The Surge Network, Haikus for Humanity, or any of our associated services (collectively, "Services"), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our Services.
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of our Services after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

2B.org Incorporated is a Colorado registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (EIN: 85-0569706). Our mission is to restore our humanity to humanity by advocating for shared prosperity and ensuring the gains from technological progress benefit everyone, not just shareholders.

Email & Network Communications
This is important, so we're putting it front and center.
By joining The Surge Network, signing up through any form on our website, submitting a haiku, volunteering, donating, or otherwise providing your contact information to 2B.org, you consent to receive email communications from us across all categories, including but not limited to:
- 📢 Campaign alerts & calls to action — Advocacy campaigns, petitions, legislative alerts, and calls to contact representatives
- 📰 Organizational updates — News about 2B.org, The Surge Network, new initiatives, and mission progress
- 📊 Analytical & research communications — Reports, data insights, policy analysis, and educational content
- 🤝 Community & engagement — Event invitations, volunteer opportunities, member spotlights, and community updates
- 🛠️ Administrative & operational — Account confirmations, service updates, policy changes, and transactional notices
- 💛 Fundraising & development — Donation appeals and stewardship communications
We do not use topic-based subscription categories. When you join our network, you join our movement—and we communicate with you as a full participant. We believe in keeping our community informed across the full scope of our work, not siloing you into narrow categories.
You can unsubscribe from all communications at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting us at concierge@2b.org. One click, you're out. No questions asked.
The Surge Network
The Surge is 2B.org's action and media network. By joining The Surge, you become part of a community committed to shared prosperity and democratic accountability. Membership is free and open to anyone who shares our values.
As a Surge Network member, you understand that:
- Your information may be used for advocacy — Including connecting you with your elected representatives based on your zip code
- You may receive time-sensitive alerts — When legislative action or civic engagement is urgent
- Participation is voluntary — You are never obligated to take action on any campaign
- Your data stays with us — We never share your personal information with other organizations, campaigns, or political parties
User-Submitted Content
When you submit content to our platforms—including haikus, comments, testimonials, or other contributions—you grant 2B.org a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute that content in connection with our mission and Services.
You represent that any content you submit:
- Is your original work or you have the right to share it
- Does not infringe on any third party's rights
- Does not contain unlawful, threatening, harassing, or harmful material
- Does not contain spam, commercial solicitation, or malicious code
We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these guidelines or that we determine, in our sole discretion, is harmful to our community or mission.
Donations
Donations to 2B.org are processed through Donorbox, a third-party payment processor. All donations are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. By making a donation, you agree to Donorbox's terms of service in addition to these terms.
Donations are generally non-refundable. If you believe a donation was made in error, contact us at concierge@2b.org and we will work with you to resolve the issue.
Acceptable Use
When using our Services, you agree not to:
- Use our platforms for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or data
- Interfere with or disrupt the operation of our Services
- Impersonate any person or entity
- Scrape, harvest, or collect personal information of other users
- Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access our Services without permission
- Transmit malware, viruses, or other harmful code
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for any user who violates these terms.
Intellectual Property
All content on 2B.org—including text, graphics, logos, the 2B Declaration, campaign materials, and software—is the property of 2B.org Incorporated or its content suppliers and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
We encourage sharing our mission. You may share links to our content and quote brief excerpts with attribution. For broader use of our materials, please contact us at concierge@2b.org.
Third-Party Links & Services
Our Services may contain links to third-party websites or services that are not owned or controlled by 2B.org. We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services. This includes but is not limited to Donorbox, social media platforms, and external news sources we may reference.
Disclaimers
Our Services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that our Services will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
Content on our platforms—including policy analysis, legislative information, and advocacy materials—is provided for informational and educational purposes. It does not constitute legal, financial, or professional advice.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, 2B.org shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of our Services.
Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Colorado, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these terms shall be resolved in the courts located in Boulder County, Colorado.
CAN-SPAM Compliance
All email communications from 2B.org comply with the CAN-SPAM Act. Every email we send includes our organization name and physical mailing information, a clear and conspicuous unsubscribe mechanism, and accurate header and subject line information.
Unsubscribe requests are honored within 10 business days. Once you unsubscribe, we will not send you further marketing communications unless you re-subscribe.
Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms shall otherwise remain in full force and effect.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll notify you by email or by posting a notice on our website. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the terms were most recently revised. Continued use of our Services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
